One of the main issues identified by the team was the use of inadequate water purification methods in the community. Realizing the essence of having clean and safe water for the public's health, the team took decisive action to address this problem. The failure of the purification methods was a direct danger to the health of the residents, but also threatened the general well-being of the community, potentially leading to the spread of waterborne diseases.
The team organized intensive training on skills building for the Acua team, community leaders, and residents in the community to implement effective water purification techniques. This training was designed to ensure that all key players involved in the community had the ability to adopt and promote safe water practices to reduce risks of contamination and improve health outcomes.
The trainings are aimed at equipping participants with the various methods that exist in purifying the water, ranging from simple and of low cost to advanced ones, this includes proper chlorination techniques, boiling, and solar disinfection. This will also help cultivate the spirit of ownership and responsibility among members of communities to maintain and improve the quality of their water. By engaging community leaders and residents directly, the team aimed to create a sustainable, long-term impact, ensuring that the knowledge and practices shared during the training would continue to benefit the community well into the future.
