As our time in Barangay Dulian draws to a close, we reflect on the meaningful impact we've strived to create. Our mission focused on three pressing issues: inadequate water purification, poor solid waste management, and a significant number of hypertensive individuals. We’ve poured our hearts into this work, from health education and creating informative materials to launching community campaigns.
To ensure that these efforts continue long after we leave, we’ve worked closely with the Barangay Captain, local councils, and health personnel to build a sustainable framework. We’ve established dedicated teams for each issue: the Acua Team for water purification, Taskforce Eco 'Eco Warriors' for waste management, and the Midwife and DM Hypertensive Club Officer for hypertension.
For water purification, we provided materials, established ordinances for regular water testing, and entrusted the Acua Team with ongoing responsibilities. For waste management, we introduced educational resources, secured agreements for waste collection, and implemented a comprehensive solid waste management program. And for hypertension, we handed over educational materials, outlined monitoring responsibilities, and set up agreements for regular health gatherings.
Additionally, we’ve compiled a sustainability module detailing all our initiatives—from educational materials to ordinances and agreements. This guide will empower the key individuals we've appointed to carry on our work, ensuring the community can continue to thrive independently.
Our hope is that these efforts will enable Barangay Dulian to stand strong and address its challenges long after we’ve gone. We leave with pride, knowing that we’ve not only addressed immediate needs but also laid a foundation for lasting positive change.
