As part of our ongoing initiative to manage hypertension through lifestyle changes, we conducted a Zumba session designed to encourage physical activity among participants. The session aimed to improve cardiovascular health, reduce stress levels, and promote overall wellness.
The Zumba session was led by a certified zumba instructor and our team (medical students) who guided participants through a series of high-energy dance routines.
The session saw active participation from all attendees, with the majority expressing enthusiasm and enjoyment throughout the workout. The dance routines were adapted to accommodate different fitness levels, allowing everyone to participate comfortably. Participants were encouraged to move at their own pace, ensuring that they could engage in the workout without overexertion.
Before the session began, participants were reminded of the importance of staying hydrated and a short lecture on hypertension and importance of lifestyle modification was conducted.
According to the participants, the Zumba workout was both enjoyable and manageable. Many reported feeling energized and less stressed after the session. Several participants expressed interest in continuing with regular Zumba sessions as part of their personal health routines.
